Frequently asked questions about dog grooming
The importance of grooming your dog
Brushing is highly beneficial for all kinds of dogs, for removing dead hair, skin and dirt what all dogs have in their fur, no matter what length it is. Regular washing and brushing helps encourage natural oils within a dog’s fur to reproduce and allows a groomer or owner to check the health of the dog at the same time.
What is included in a dog grooming?
The mobile dog groomer at Dial a dog wash, Reading, will arrive at your home with their professional dog washing unit within the van. Your dog will be washed individually, ensuring it receives the full attention of the dog groomer. Your dog will be brushed, clipped if required, dried professionally and checked for general health
Choosing a good mobile dog groomer
Ask your fellow dog-owners first who they would recommend to groom your beloved pet. Often our mobile dog grooming services are referred from other customers or dog owners who have experienced our services first hand. A good, reliable dog groomer will be confident around your pet, have a gentle and caring manner when handling your dog.
How often should you get your dog groomed?
This depends on the length of their coat and how messy they get when walking. We would recommend grooming your pet every 12-14 weeks, including washing and brushing their coat. If you have a long-haired dog, we recommend having their coat trimmed, washed and groomed every 8-10 weeks. A dog’s nails may need to be trimmed more regularly if they don’t regularly walk on pavement so we recommend keeping an eye on the length of your dogs claws.
